The data collected by CDP is used by various entities after submission and analysis. The disclosed data is used by CDP to power the following tools and resources.

For Cities

CDP use this data to produce city scores, analytics, snapshot reports, and feedback for local and regional governments on their score. CDP also makes publicly reported data available on the website and through the Open Data Portal and the UNFCCC’s Global Climate Action Portal (formerly the NAZCA Platform)  is powered by CDP’s data.

  • Certain cities can submit a non-public response.
    Please note that the following cities are not able to submit a non-public response:
  • Cities committed to the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy, WWF/One Planet City Challenge, Cities Race to Zero, Cities Race to Resilience and NetZeroCities initiatives.
  • The Terms and Conditions for our Cities Questionnaire provides a comprehensive list of information on what happens to your response after submission. The Terms and Conditions are also available through the ‘Submit your response’ page of the online questionnaires.
For States and Regions
  • CDP use this data to produce analytics and also makes the data available on the website and through the Open Data Portal and the UNFCCC’s Global Climate Action Portal (formerly the NAZCA Platform) is powered by CDP’s data.
  • For states and regions, public disclosure is mandatory. Submitting ‘Publicly’ means that the response will be made visible on CDP's website, shared with partners and report writersand used in analysis .
  • The Terms and Conditions for our States and Regions Questionnaire provides a comprehensive list of information on what happens to your response after submission. The Terms and Conditions are also available through the ‘Submit your response’ page of the online questionnaires.
